DISCOVER THE DETAILS OF Drapes

You may have heard the saying, “It’s all about the little things.” And, that couldn’t be more true! The details of finishing custom drapes might seem small, but they can make a big impact. Both the hardware you select and the way the top of your draperies are finished off can create a dynamic look.

Drapery Hardware

The metals you choose for your drapery hardware will coordinate and tie in other design elements in the same shared space. From the modern look of matte black, to the traditional style of brushed nickel, and a number of other metallic finishes, we will customize the look to fit your personal style.

Additional hardware can match your selections, based on the type of header style you choose, like curtain rings or drapery hooks. These allow you to attach your custom curtains to the drapery rod. Curtain tie backs are another option in rooms where you’d like to move the curtain away from the window when not in use.

The Top of DRAPES

Draperies can be finished in many ways, and the top is one of the most important places to feature a custom look. It’s not just how the drapes attach–it’s also the finished look that contributes to your selection of header style. Fabric is sewn in specific styles to hang the curtains and also to create the specialty design.

  • Pinch Pleated Drapery showcases folded fabrics, pinched together and then sewn. These flat folds are done in multiples, offering a sophisticated finish. These custom drapes hang from the drapery rod using clips or hooks with drapery rings.
  • Grommet Curtains feature metals grommets, known as eyelets, that are affixed to the drapery fabric. These grommets are open in the middle, and the drapery rod slides through. As a well-known type of header style, grommet curtains are available to style any type of design statement, from casual to formal.
  • Ripplefold Drapes are known by their “ripples” of fabric that offer a consistent look across the top of the drapery. These rounded curves are attached to a specialty track that allows the drapes to adjust sideways easily.

Layering WINDOW TREATMENTS

One of the most popular style statements with window treatments is the layering effect. Draperies nicely frame the window, while window shades, blinds or shutters make a base layer for style and function. In this way, you can create dimension and personality by mixing colors, patterns and textures that offer a gorgeous backdrop in your home. When the base layer of window coverings controls the light, privacy and comfort, you can allow the side panels to add softness with fabrics or additional control when needed.
