The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act has deemed cords on window coverings to be a danger to the safety of Canadians, particularly to children. The regulations state that blind cords must measure less than 22 cm. SoftTouch is another way to add motorization to your shades. This is relatively new to the window coverings world. It’s a wand that allows you to operate your window coverings with motorization–for that one individual window. A gentle tug down, or a nudge up, and you’ll make adjustments with ease. Safe Cord Options

The UltraGlide system features a retractable cord. To open and close the shades you pull on the cord, and then it will return to it’s short length once you’re done adjusting.
